Teams
Throughout the years, SF Warriors have had a total of eight teams that have competed in the NCVA Power League and one team that has competed in the NCVA Area League.
In our first year, 2003-2004, we were developing our team and program for the future years to come. At that point in time, coaches Sandra Guerrero and Chrystal Fontanilla had been coaching together for two years at another SF club team. In 2003, they came together once again to coach the newly-formed SF Warriors 13-1. That season Warriors finished in the top half percentage of the competing teams, making their opening season a great one.

The following season, 2004-2005, Sandra and Chrystal came together once again to coach the 14-1 with some of the returning players of the previous ‘03-’04 season. That season, the Warriors took first in their division at the California Kickoff and capped off the season with one of their best matches of the year at the Far Western taking second place in the Silver division. That same season they also placed first in their bracket at the California Finals. The team was filled with some very talented players, who are still competing in the NCVA and on their high school Varsity teams.
The following season, 2005-2006, Warriors created another 14-1 team to compete in the NVCA Power League with new addition, coach Denise Lujan. That season Warriors had an amazing group of players and parents and enjoyed every tournament there was to come finishing in the top 40. The ‘05-06 team was the foundation for the prosperous upcoming season.
The 2006-2007 season the Warriors created two teams, a 14-1 and 13-1. The 14’s, coached by Sandra and Denise, had an awesome season. They placed first in three of their tournaments that season and placed in the top 30 of the NCVA Power League. The brand new 13’s, coached by newly added Jennifer Curtin and Christine Serafin, had an excellent season. They maintained in the gold division most of the season earning a bid to the Junior Olympics held in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In Minnesota, they placed first in the flight one division.
The 2007-2008 season, Sandra and Denise came together to coach the newly developed 12’s team. They were both very excited to train this team and get them geared up for the NCVA Power League. They had a total blast! Not only was this team full of energy but also raw talent. Their determination led them to win and to place first at the regional finals in their division and end the season 1st in the Silver Division.
Finally the 2008-2009 season has been the highlight of the Warriors career thus far! The Warriors created three teams, a Power 13-1 and 12-1 and an Area 12-2. The 12’s Area, coached by Sandra and Denise, had an awesome season with most players greatly improved in their skills. The 13’s, coached by Sandra and Christine Serafin, also had a great season, placing 18th overall. The 12’s Power, coached by Sandra and Denise, had an excellent season! They maintained in the gold division the entire season earning a bid to the Junior Olympics held in Miami, Florida. In Miami, they placed second in the silver division; 6th place overall and were the highest ranked Northern California team in the American division.
This year the Warriors will be producing a 13’s and 14’s for the 2009-2010 season. The coaches are looking forward to coaching this years players and seeing what this season has in store for 2009-2010 Warriors!
